THE SPILLAGE PEOPLE

Following the completion of a degree in Illustration, I have pursued a successful and varied career in the creative industry, with roles ranging from scenic painting and fine art sculpture, to managing artists and production design for film and site specific art projects. Recent examples of my other creative work have included Yinka Shonibare’s Wind Sculpture VII, on display outside of the Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C; a scale model of Berlin commissioned by Merlin Little Big City, and the set of the Coach fashion house autumn collection 2016. As lead painter on projects such as these, I am responsible for the final artistry on large-scale structures, a role that entails careful management of a team of artists in order to achieve a consistent overall aesthetic, and demands fast-paced creative problem solving and the maintenance of good communication between all faculties of the team, meanwhile adhering to strict deadlines.
Alongside my career, I have continued to hone my traditional art skills, having attended life drawing classes for the last 12 years. I am a keen oil painter, and at 22 was shortlisted for The Winsor and Newton Young Artists Award, and had my work exhibited at the Mall Galleries, London. In more recent years, I have transitioned into working digitally, and I am confident in drawing both on screen and on paper, and am comfortable with portraiture and environments.
